You can’t win the game without hitting the goal – by Mike Calvert

A few years ago I worked with a Harvard graduate and one trait is that they are all high achievers. One of the many reasons for this is that they write down their goals and plans to accomplish these. You may say that’s obvious – but, lots of us write down our goals and never refer back to them on a regular basis. We get bogged down in non-productive tasks and don’t spend enough time reviewing our plan and making the necessary tweaks to it, or even patting ourselves on the back for breaking milestones.

As I sit at my desk for the first time in 2018 I already know what Reward’s key strategies are for this year. The main and probably the biggest one is ensuring the success of our North West office and reaching out to the professional and business community to grow and help grow SME’s in this region. For some time we have had Russell Holt in situ who has made great in-roads into establishing Reward in the North West and now we plan to invest significantly more in the market and make a real difference.

The team currently consists of three Business Development Directors and a Relationship Manager, all of whom have extensive experience in finance and banking. This all-round knowledge puts us in a strong position to advise prospects on the best solutions for funding, whilst helping our clients achieve their own plans for 2018. And, we will be further strengthening the team with more customer-facing staff in the coming months.

In the last quarter of 2017 we sat down as a team and structured our goals and worked out how we will achieve these. I am sure many of you are the same and will have a strategy in place for this year. I always believe it is the actions you carry out in the previous three months that reap rewards today.

My advice is to keep it simple and easy to review on one page. That way you will achieve more.

So, hopefully you haven’t left it too late to make an immediate impact to the year. And, good luck with your goals for 2018.
